This piece was on display at the Museum of Time in Cabeceiras de Basto. Very old pocket watch in silver the year 1823. To get an idea of ​​its antiquity, was produced a year after D.Pedro declare the independence of Brazil. That same year, 1823, in Portugal, King Dom João VI, defended his crown from the attacks of his wife Carlota Joaquina and her son Miguel, shortly after his return from Brazil, where he was from 1807 to 1821.It is a watch with a 5.8 cm diameter large and heavy piece.

The
silver pair case is in excellent condition, both original, (exhibit the same hallmarks of 1823), from London. They are very robust and heavy.

Fantastic Verge Movement all worked manually, please analyze photo.It is signed by a recognized watchmaker English, Edward Solomon, Cantendury, also the son of a watchmaker referenced name Edward Solomon, Margate. Solomon son exercised between 1785 and 1826.. Working very well, totally clean and revised by our watchmakers, one-year warranty.

Enamel dial in good condition, with only 3 light hairlines, perfectly acceptable.
