Rare silver pocket watch from 1794 as indicated in the English contrast!It is a watch with a 5.4 cm diameter and 2.5 in heigh. The pair case of this watch have one more hallmark than usual, (the bust of King George III, which refers to a surcharge imposed by the king between 1785 and 1820. Who does not hallmark their silver pieces had a fine of 6d per ounce.Apart from this rare curiosity, this great watch is one of the first pieces made by this recognized London clockmaker Thomas Delasalle, (brother of James Delasalle also clockmaker) with the serial number 374. Given their low number, possibly done before it settle in St. Catherines Stairs, Tower Hill, where he worked from 1799 to 1824. I remember that Thomas was born in 1750.
